This week in number, we have been looking at patterns, in particular repeating patterns.
We made them on computers, with sticky shapes, colour patterns, patterns with objects as well as patterns in our environment and sound patterns. (If a jobs worth doing...)
Why not get your child to try this cute pattern activity? Just click here!
The children were amazing at the harvest festival this week! They are such fabulous singers, we can’t wait to see them perform their songs at the nativity!
The children will be introduced to the sounds c and k. We will be using these phonemes and those learnt so far to blend the sounds (push sounds together) to read words and segment (break sounds up) in a word to spell. Please remember to revisit these sounds during the week and complete the activity sheet with your child.
Following our Autumn walk, the children will be writing about their experience of Autumn using their senses concentrating on what they saw, felt and heard.
To continue with an Autumn theme in numeracy we will be practising our counting and number recognition skills by counting and number matching Autumn items.
They will recall what they need to do to ensue careful counting as well as use their number formation rhymes to recall numerals.
Thank you to all who supported the children on their Autumn walk this week, the children thoroughly enjoyed it!
Have a lovely weekend
