About Us

Holy Name Catholic Voluntary Academy was opened in 1989 after the closure of Holy Name Catholic Middle School as part of a re-organisation of Catholic schools in Leeds. The school is situated opposite the Holy Name Church on Otley Old Road, and it primarily serves the Parish Community. Details of the official catchment area can be obtained from the school. At the time of publication we have 203 pupils on role (Autumn 2022)

We received an overall judgement of, 'Good' and an 'Outstanding' grade for Early Years from Ofsted in July 2018.

We work closely with the families of our pupils and with the parishioners to ensure that they achieve their full potential spiritually, academically, morally, physically, emotionally, behaviourally and creatively. Our hope is that children leaving the school will be able to contribute to society in a positive, active manner, and within a Christian context.

Holy Name is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust (BWCAT). More information about the BWCAT can be found here.
