We have been sorting and sorting…
We also had a lovely time during stay and play this Friday morning – the grown-ups got stuck into the challenges and activities we have in class during the week!
This week the children will be introduced to the letters o and c.
We will be using these phonemes and those learnt so far to blend the sounds (push sounds together) to read words and segment (break sounds up) in a word to spell. Please remember to revisit these sounds during the week and complete the activity sheet with your child.
This week’s key words are: look, at.
This will be tied into food groups, our preferences and the need for a balanced diet. The children will be looking at a group of foods such as fruit and write sentences about the food.
Look at the fruit. I like apples.
Look at the dinner. I like potatoes.
The children will be creating repeating patterns using glue shapes, beads, lego, cars and on the ipads.
The children will consider how to stay healthy and what we need to do to look after our bodies as well as the importance of hand washing and how we spread germs.
During RE the children will learn about how they are all special to God and how each of us is unique.
Have a great weekend!
