After the party the children enjoyed last Friday, the focus in literacy this week has been to write a letter to Mrs. Wells to thank her for allowing us to have it!
The children thought of some of the things they did and enjoyed to include in their letter.
It seemed dancing and crisps were firm favourites!
In RE they have been thinking about how they can show their love for God by helping others.
Some suggestions were:
I help my mummy clean my room, I give hugs to my friends, I play with someone if they are lonely.
This week the children will be introduced to the letters b, f and ff. We will be using these sounds and those learnt so far to blend the sounds (push sounds together) to read words and segment (break sounds up) in a word to spell.
Topic and Literacy
During this week we will be consolidating the key words we have learnt so far this half term. Please help your child to read AND spell these words.
We shall also write our letters to Santa this week! The children will think about the things they would like from Santa, and then discuss HOW they have been good. Maybe you might like to post on Tapestry letting us know what your child does at home to help you?!
This week, we will still be thinking about the concepts of more and less still focussing on 10 more and 10 less. We will also continue to look at the pattern of numbers between 11 and 20 to help the children order them. Towards the end of the week, using 10ps and 1ps we will then begin to look at the partitioning, so that children begin to see for instance that 16p is made up of one 10p and six 1ps, (or 1 ten and six ones). This will be taught in the context of buying items from the café.
Have a good weekend!
